TITHING in the Church

It is not uncommon to find Christians who, on a monthly basis, pay into their local church 10% of their monthly income as 'tithe.' However, when asked the reason for which they do so, they'll simply tell you, "It's in the Bible." Others will tell you that they do pay tithes because God commanded them in the Bible to do so, claiming if they don't, they're robbing God and will attract God's curse in their lives, quoting Malachi 3:8-10. This is the picture of the Church today with respect to the ordinance of tithing.God's Word clearly says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)." The reason why many Christians have been deceived to pay tithes is simply because they have not searched the truth of the matter by themselves. Tithing was an old covenant ordinance applicable to the Jews in Judaism. It has no place in Christianity. Jesus Christ did fulfill every requirement of the law by his death on the cross.
